This quilt uses 20 of the 1/2 square triangles left over from the
"Y in the Road" quilt OR you can start from scratch.  If you use the
leftovers, all you need to do on this one is to cut strips of
background fabric and sew and go.

squares and rectangles, add some borders and you
have a fast and easy quilt.  You can start from

Changing the background on the outer block gives the quilt a built in border.

It doesn't look like a beginner quilt but it is.  It has very basic quilt squares, like 9 patch and quarter
square triangles put together my  way and wall-la...you get Argyle Stars.  One of my most popular quilt
patterns.  Since it has large alternate blocks it works great with your novelty prints.  Also, since the
outside row of blocks in done with a darker fabric it gives the effects of built in borders.  You
wouldn't have to add the outer border if you didn't want toMake it your own with easy to
follow color instructions.
